Three days after that first missing Tuesday would have landed, on Saturday, September 12, Smyrna Market Village hosts a craft market from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It's a real event with a real address, 1265 W Spring St, but it won't show up if you're only checking the City of Smyrna's calendar or the county's events page. It's booked through an outside vendor's own touring schedule rather than the city's programming, which is a small but useful thing to know about how Smyrna's public spaces actually get used. If your mental model of "what's happening in Smyrna" is limited to the two obvious sources, you'll think September has nothing scheduled between the last food truck night and the big fall festival five weeks later. It doesn't work that way. There's already a Saturday booked.

Where the evening crowd actually goes

Once Food Truck Tuesdays wraps, the center of gravity for a Smyrna evening shifts from the park to the patios that ring Market Village. Atkins Park and The Village Hideout are the two most reliable spots for a local band on a given night, and McCray's Tavern in West Village fills the more relaxed neighborhood-tavern role if a folding chair and a food truck line aren't what you're after. The newest addition to that stretch is StillFire Brewing's Smyrna taproom, which held its grand opening on March 13 with live music and fresh beer releases running from 4 p.m. to nearly midnight.
